ADVOCACY - Make Your Voice Heard!

The Advocacy Committee reaches out to state and federal officials to raise awareness of FPANJ and FPA National to ensures that our issues get heard. Annually, we travel to Trenton and Washington, D.C. and discuss legislative and regulatory trends that impact our chapter members, their practices and our profession. On an on-going grass roots basis, our members communicate with their district officials locally to reinforce our perspective on current issues.

  • SEC Rule, the best interest standard vs. fiduciary standard limiting the term financial planner to CFPs
  • State regulation of Financial Planners
  • Grass Roots Communication with New Jersey legislators to promote discussion on issues such as elder care and financial literacy among others
