The FPA of NJ is dedicated to providing knowledge, advocacy, community, and leadership to all those who need, support and deliver professional financial planning. FPA of NJ believes that everyone, no matter what their situation or economic status, can benefit greatly from the experience and advice of a competent, ethical financial planner.

As such, we are creating a Diversity and Inclusion officer position on our Board. This is a volunteer position that would attend Board Meetings, participate in diversity-related discussions, focus on increasing diversity and inclusion amongst members, speakers, and the public served locally, and supports the work of the board by managing/executing diversity and inclusion related projects.
Qualified applicants should have:

  1. A strong interest in increasing the diversity of the financial planning profession;
  2. Desire to increase the diversity of the public served/who has access to financial planning;
  3. Commitment to work on behalf of the Initiative as assigned/required through the Committee;
  4. Ability to have difficult conversations regarding diverse topics including race, religion, privilege, etc., with an open mind;
  5. Willingness to learn about different topics related to diversity and inclusion.

Initiatives to help our chapter meet our diversity & inclusion goals:

  • Leadership Initiatives
