We are the community that champions the value of financial planning, advances the financial planning profession, and enhances the professional development of its members. The purpose of this event is to be with the people you want to know, gain the knowledge that you need and nurture the relationships that grow. For those of you who missed Karin Price-Mueller at our spring conference, she was invited back to present to our group regarding politics, media and portfolio performance. Learn how to guide your clients to continue to make the right choices in this political climate. At the conclusion of the presentation, join us in having fun driving golf balls in climate-controlled hitting bays, celebrate our volunteers who are the FPA of NJ’s backbone, meet our partners who financially support the FPA of NJ and connect with members of your community that can help build your practice.

"Politics, the Media & Portfolio Performance"

Karin will discuss how the impact of politics and media may have on your clients portfolio. Including managing your political bias and your client’s expectations . We’ll also explore how you can guide your clients to continue to make the right choices in this political climate.

We’ll cover:

  • A review of the political climate (could be tax legislation or other hot topics) that may impact what your clients are thinking and feeling.
  • Why/how your clients’ emotional state could impact their portfolio.
  • How to talk about the political birds and bees with your clients, why it’s a must, and how to treat your own political leanings.
  • How to help them digest all the noise and how it affects their long-term plans.
  • If the markets are still higher, a discussion of how to prepare clients for an inevitable correction and how politics will fit in.
  • Managing clients’ optimism/pessimism based on the hot story of the day.
